What is a good book with beginning home brew recipes?
I would like to move past home brewing with pre-made kits, but easy recipes seem hard to find. I’m also looking to learn how to brew with actual malts, instead of just malt extracts, but I have no idea how to do this.
got a 2 gallon home brew kit for christmas. all the recipes i find are for 5 gallon or more.?
how do i convert it down from 5 or 10 gallon down to two?
go to your local homebrew supply store and tell them you want a recipe for 2 gallons. Also you can go to online homebrew shops. Most standard recipe kits are for 5/6 or 10 gallons because that’s what most homebrewers make. The time and effort to make a five gallon batch would not be decreased for a 2 gallon batch, unless you are just doing the Mr. Beer style recipes: i.e. 1 can pre-hopped wort extract, one bag corn sugar, boil, stir, chill add yeast.
I started with Mr. Beer kit and eventually graduated to 5 gallon batches. Good luck brewing
Do you know a good home brew recipe (beer)?
Looking for a nice recipe for home brewed beer (not the supermarket kits, after 20something batches of that we’re kinda over it). Something that tastes a bit like Cascade (premium, with a citrussy hint). We’ve got the 23ltr plastic drum set-up. Thanks
Home brew in need of help!!
I make Tooheys Draught home brew kit and have been using 1kg of white sugar in it.
Im looking for a better result as it could taste better.
Any suggestions for RECIPES?
My favorite for beginners (and more advanced brewers, too) is Papazian’s book The New Complete Joy of Home Brewing. It gives you technique, theory and recipes. Don’t jump to all-grain brewing just yet. Try a few batches of extract plus specialty grains first.
When you say 1 kg “white sugar” I’m assuming you mean dextrose?
It’s been a while since I’ve been involved in zymurgy as a hobby, but if I recall dextrose/corn sugar was a adjunct that would of course boost alcohol content but at a much cheaper price than maltose. We mainly used white sugar as a finishing agent in carbonating what was otherwise a strictly malt based brew.
There was a magazine called Zymurgy that was published for many years and may well still be in existence — online or however — that offered great recipes and competitive resources. Let me look to see if it still exists…. Yep.. See below. Zymurgy magazine has been around for decades. If the link I found is to the original, it’s an excellent resource. Cheers!
Mr.Beer It’s a blast to make and it’s easy. I also got one for my kids called Mr.Rootbeer that is also a blast to make! So I would recommend anything along those lines.
HELP! What is the best at-home beer brewing kit for under $200?
My husband is turning 30. He has always wanted to brew his own beer using his recipes and unique ingredients. He has never brewed beer before and I think this would be an AMAZING gift to start off his 30s right! There are many on the internet and all seem to get pretty good reviews. Any recommendations? THANK YOU!

Go to your local do-it-yourself brewery… They have hundreds of variations that you can brew at home…
