What is the best home brewing kit to buy?
I have NO experience brewing beer at home. I have friends who brewed beer in college and they used a Mr. Beer kit, I DO NOT want that one. I know that cleanliness is key, but I want to know what’s the best kit out there and will the kit come with everything I need or will I have to get extra stuff?

All help, hints or suggestions are appreciated.

    Cheers and Thanks!

The best thing you can do is go to your local home brewer store. They can set you up for <$150, and it’ll be quality equipment.

If you’ve never brewed before, this kit is fine. It is an ultra simplified home brew kit that would make seasoned home brewers cringe….but if you are not a seasoned home brewer you will have fun. Its easy, just follow the directions, keep everything clean, and in the dark. If all goes well you will have beer at the end that tastes ok. You may even catch the brewing bug and invest a few hundred dollars on a real beginner kit from homebrew supplies. Have fun!

Mr.Beer It’s a blast to make and it’s easy. I also got one for my kids called Mr.Rootbeer that is also a blast to make! So I would recommend anything along those lines.

Can you help with my home brewing questions?
I want to start brewing my own beer at home. I have no experience, but I did buy Home Brewing for dummies book, which I haven’t read yet. Where in the NW side of Chicago can I buy supplies/Home brewing kit? I saw a Mr. Beer kit online, is that a good buy? Any suggestions?

A kit won’t help you learn how to brew, a kit will just include the equipment needed to brew. As far as the best kit out there, most homebrew shop’s starter kits are basically the same thing. Check out http://www.midwestsupplies.com or http://www.autinhomebrew.com or a local homebrew shop for starter kits.
If you want to learn how to brew, you should check out http://www.howtobrew.com or http://www.homebrewtalk.com, or read a book. Charlie Papazian’s The Complete Joy of Homebrewing is the quintessential bible of homebrew.

HELP! What is the best at-home beer brewing kit for under $200?
My husband is turning 30. He has always wanted to brew his own beer using his recipes and unique ingredients. He has never brewed beer before and I think this would be an AMAZING gift to start off his 30s right! There are many on the internet and all seem to get pretty good reviews. Any recommendations? THANK YOU!

Has anyone used the Mr. Beer home brewing kit?
I ordered a Mr. Beer home brewing kit and I have some questions:

    How did you like it?
Is it as easy to use as they make it out to be?
Whats the proper way to sanitize the bottles?
Do you need to sanitize them after each use?
After bottling, at what point can I put it in the fridge?
    Any do’s and dont advice?

    Thanks!
