Remove Beer Stains

Author: Tempo

IMPORTANT: Always read and follow the care instructions and any warnings provided by the carpet manufacturer. Rugs and carpets with natural fibers and/or certain dyes may require special treatment. If in doubt contact a cleaning professional for advice/service.

When trying to clean a Beer Stain out of carpets or upholstery it is important to pretest the products you will be using to make sure you don't do further damage to the carpet you are cleaning. The best way to do this is to apply a small amount of the cleaner to a white cloth and hold it to an inconspicuous area of the carpet or upholstery for 30 - 60 seconds. If there is no colour transfer onto the cloth it should be safe to use on stain.

Do not saturate the stain with cleaning compounds because some compounds will set the stain permanently into the carpet or upholstery. For the same reason don't apply heat to the stain.

When trying to get a stain out you should blot with a clean white cloth or paper towels. Blot from the outside edges towards the center of the stain. Do Not scrub or rub the stain vigorously because it is possible to damage or change the texture of the fabric permanently. Also you could make the stain go deeper into the carpet or upholstery and even if it appears to have been removed by this process it is possible it will reappear later. Removing a stain as soon as you see it is very important. The longer it is in the carpet the harder it is to remove.

The longer a stain remains, the greater the odds are that it won't come out

Follow these simple steps for removing a "BEER STAIN".

Immediately blot up as much of the liquid stain as possible using a soft, white, absorbent material like a towel or napkin.

Mix one teaspoon of a neutral dish detergent (a mild detergent containing no alkalies or bleaches) with a cup of luke-warm water. Blot.

Neutralize with a white vinegar solution (Mix one-third cup of white household vinegar with two-thirds cup of water). Apply white vinegar solution using a spray bottle and blot to remove excess moisture.

Repeat step one with the neutral detergent to remove any stain that might still appear to be in the carpet or upholstery.

Rinse with tap water using a spray bottle, blot to remove excess moisture. Apply pad of paper towels and brick and allow to dry.

If there is still some stain on the carpet and blotting is not removing it, then moisten the tufts in the stained area with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Let stand for on (1) hour. Blot and repeat until carpet is stain free. Light will cause peroxide to change back to water so no rinsing is necessary.

Apply pad of paper towels and weight down with brick.

which is the best beer to take home from Portland, ME?
So I am visiting Portland, ME for the week and I am planning on shipping a 6 pack of locally brewed beer home to my boyfriend. I looked up a couple of local breweries and I was just wondering which is the best one to take home…these are the ones I looked up:

    D. L. Geary Brewing Company
    Gritty McDuff’s Brewing Company
    Shipyard Brewing Company
    Casco Bay Brewing Co.
    Sebago Brewing Company
    Allagash Brewing Company

Or if you know of any others that are close, please let me know.
I definately want to take something local from Maine home. and right now his fav beers are Guinness and Newcastle. so anything similar to those?
oh and i hate beer so i won’t be sampling any of these

How long does it take for a 5 gallon batch of beer (home brew) to ferment?
This particular batch fermented in just a few days-I still want to wait at least 10 until I bottle-should I hit it with another dose of yeast?

I don’t know where you can, but if you call Lee’s Liquor they would definately know, and they may even have some supplies there. They’ve got the largest selection of anything that has to do with liquor in all of Vegas. My favorite store is the one on Craig and Rancho, but there are like 6 in Vegas so you can choose whichever one is closest to you, they should be in the yellow pages under liquor store. Good luck and hope this helps!

Where can I buy beer home brewing supplies in Las Vegas, NV?
Looking for a place that I can visit in person. Can’t seem to find a place by looking online, other than one that is no longer in business.

  5. BEER says:

    1. It takes, on average, a five gallon batch of beer 3-5 days for the initial or primary fermentation to run to completion. Usually, then the homebrewer will rack the beer into a second vessel (secondary vessel, or secondary fermentor) leaving a majority of the yeast in the first.

    2. Leaving the beer on the yeast bed for long periods of time can ruin your beer. This is because the yeast can die in a process called autolysis, literally spilling their guts into your beer. The beer is very health nutrient wise from this autolysis as much of the internal-guts of yeast are B-vitamins. But they are quite bitter and unpleasant tasting. (So rack him!)

#. No do not hit it with another dosage of yeast. In homebrewing the yeast is never completely remove from the beer. (unless you filter it) So from the secondary fermentor after about a 1-2 week rest you will rack your beer again. This time you will add about 1/2 to 1 cup USA of sugar that has been cooked (sterilization). The actual amount of sugar you use for carbonation is something you will learn with experience as it is specific gravity related. You then bottle your beer and wait for the mild fermentation in the bottle to produce CO2.
